PP Resin for Injection Molding

Injection molding is the largest single application for polypropylene — and our deepest area of expertise. We supply a full grade slate covering six sub-applications: low-flow K8003 / 2500HW / EP300H for crates and automotive, high-flow EP548R for fast-cycle thin-wall, thin-wall specialists HP648T and M70, homopolymer HP500N for rigid housewares, transparent RP340R, and milk-tea-cup special M700B. Matched precisely to your mold and cycle.

What Injection Molding Demands

Key Requirements of PP Resin for Injection Molding

Across the wide range of injection-molded parts, a few resin attributes consistently determine part quality, cycle time, and scrap rate. Here's what we look for when matching a grade to your mold.

1

Flow for Cavity Fill

MFR must match part geometry and wall thickness — too low and the cavity won't fill; too high and mechanical properties suffer.

2

Stiffness vs. Impact Balance

Homopolymer for maximum rigidity; impact copolymer where drop resistance and toughness matter. The wrong choice causes field failures.

3

Dimensional Stability

Consistent shrinkage and low warpage — controlled by MWD and copolymer structure — keep parts in tolerance across production runs.

4

Color & Surface Finish

Consistent base resin color and additive package ensure reproducible coloring and gloss, batch after batch.

5

Lot-to-Lot Consistency

Stable MFR and density from lot to lot prevent processing drift — the foundation of low scrap rates and high uptime.

By Sub-Application

Injection Molding Sub-Applications

Six sub-applications — from rigid housewares to milk-tea cups — here's how our nine grades map to the parts you make.

Rigid Housewares

Containers, cups, basins, kitchen utensils, storage items, and general rigid parts. Stiffness, surface gloss, and easy coloring are key.

Recommended Grade
HP500N — PP Homopolymer · on request

Purpose-built homopolymer injection grade for rigid housewares — high stiffness, excellent surface finish, and easy color masterbatch uptake at competitive cost.

Crates & Containers

Returnable distribution crates, beverage trays, industrial totes, and waste bins. Drop resistance and stack strength under load.

Recommended Grade
K8003 — Impact Copolymer · Low-Flow · on request

A proven low-MFR impact copolymer tuned for thick-wall crates and totes — outstanding drop resistance and rigidity-toughness balance for repeated handling.

Heavy-Duty Alternative
2500HW — Impact Copolymer · Low-Flow · on request

Higher-stiffness variant for returnable transport packaging and appliance housings that face stacked-load and impact in cold-chain distribution.

Catalog Alternative
EP300H — Impact Copolymer · MFR ~3-5

Catalog grade with full TDS for crates, baskets, and large rigid parts requiring proven impact performance.

Automotive & Appliances

Door trims, instrument panels, washing machine tubs, refrigerator liners, vacuum cleaner bodies. Impact, heat, and dimensional stability.

Recommended Grade
EP300H — Impact Copolymer · MFR ~3-5

Outstanding low-temperature impact and rigidity-toughness balance. Tuned for large, load-bearing parts that face in-service impact and thermal cycling.

Alternative
K8003 — Impact Copolymer · Low-Flow · on request

Equivalent impact performance for appliance housings and automotive interior trims requiring consistent lot-to-lot impact in cold climates.

Thin-Wall Food Packaging

Food containers, deli tubs, takeaway boxes, disposable tableware, IML packaging, and closures. High flow for thin walls and fast cycles, with food-contact compliance.

Recommended Grade (High Flow)
EP548R — Impact Copolymer · MFR ~25-30 · Food Contact

High flow fills thin-wall cavities fast while the impact copolymer structure preserves drop resistance. Food-contact compliant.

Ultra-Thin-Wall Specialist
HP648T — Impact Copolymer · on request

Engineered for high-speed IML lines producing ultra-thin-wall containers — exceptional flow with maintained impact for sub-0.4 mm walls.

Microwaveable Variant
M70 — Impact Copolymer · on request

Tuned for thin-wall cups and boxes that must withstand microwave reheating — heat-deflection temperature balanced with thin-wall flow.

Transparent Articles

Clear containers, transparent housewares, medical and cosmetic parts, and clear closures. Random copolymer for high clarity without brittleness.

Recommended Grade
RP340R — Random Copolymer · Transparent · on request

A transparent PP random copolymer with balanced flow and clarity — replaces PS and SAN in many clear houseware and cosmetic applications, with better drop resistance and lower density.

Milk Tea Cup & Drink Cups

Bubble-tea cups, drink cups, smoothie cups, and disposable beverage cups. The cup must combine high transparency with side-wall toughness and crack resistance.

Recommended Grade
M700B — Random Copolymer · Milk-Tea-Cup Special · on request

A dedicated milk-tea-cup grade optimized for the bubble-tea cup process — exceptional clarity, low-stress cracking, and rigidity for cup stacking and sealing film.

General tips: PP is non-hygroscopic but surface moisture can cause splay. A short drying pass (70 °C, 1–2 h) is recommended for glossy parts. For thin-wall grades (HP648T, M70, EP548R), run a hot mold with chilled inserts for cycle reduction and use high injection velocity to prevent premature freeze. For transparent grades (RP340R, M700B), purge thoroughly between color changes to avoid haze.
